​Joe Cahill (he/him) is an award-winning composer, director, pianist, and singer based in New York City. His music is versatile and spans multiple genres including jazz, hip-hop, electronic, orchestral, and musical theatre. He frequently draws on real-world inspiration and life experiences to take listeners on a journey.

 

Recent projects include AUGMENTING REALITIES (2024)  (Director and Composer) short film which premiered at the Future of Art Film Festival; THE GALAXY BRAIN EXPERIENCE (2023) musical (Producer, Director, and Composer) which won the “Audience Choice” award at The Charm City Fringe Festival; and UNIMPORTANT CONVERSATIONS (2024) (Producer and Composer) comedy show at NYC Comedy Festival which had a sold out premier. 

 

Joe also has experience as an arranger, MIDI programmer, and teacher. He worked at Living Classrooms in Baltimore, MD (2022-2023) teaching both adults and youth mixing, songwriting, orchestration, and performance.

 

Joe is currently based in New York City, New York as he pursues his Masters of Music at NYU Steinhardt’s Screen Scoring program. While an undergrad at The Peabody Conservatory, he studied under Thomas Dolby and Christopher Kennedy. 

 

When he is not writing, Joe can be found training for his next marathon, exploring New York City with friends, and surfing in Asbury Park.
